- Who is this book club for?Birds of a Feather book club is a judgement-free, safe, friendly space for women, and people who identify as women. We choose stories by diverse female writers (with the occasional male author thrown in for variety). We want to create a safe space for women to come together - yes, to read more - but also to have big discussions about life, love, loss, belonging and so much more.
- What does the STANDARD membership include?A curated reading list, reading notes, fortnightly newsletters, access to a private Facebook group and to our private Birds of a Feather Book Club podcast. Watch the recordings of our monthly book chat with authors or listen via our private podcast channel.
When you become a member you receive access to our entire back-catalogue of Birds of a Feather books and resources from the past 4 years. This includes recordings of all our monthly book club conversations and author interviews, our reading notes, 4 years of podcast episodes and more! - I would like to join the monthly Zoom meetings live. Can I upgrade to a Premium Membership?We have closed the door to our Premium Memberships for 2026. However if you would like to upgrade please send an email to hello@birdsofafeather.com.au once you have purchased your Standard Membership and we may be able to fit you in.
- Are books included in the membership cost?No. This is a BYO books membership. Grab your own copies from the library or bookstore (or use an e-reader) and come along on our reading adventure!
- Where can I get the books from?We choose mostly Australian, new-release titles. Head down to your local library, independent bookstore, or favourite online bookstore to order your copies.
- I live outside Australia. Can I join Birds of a Feather?Yes. We have members in the US, England, Scotland, Italy, Switzerland, Singapore and New Zealand and of course from all over Australia. However, please note we predominantly choose titles published in Australia - and we cannot guarantee the titles will be available in your home country.
- What if I can't get the book finished in time?No-judgement is the name of the game in Birds Of A Feather! And that includes not getting the book finished. Let’s face it, life gets in the way sometimes!

We also have over 150 groups that meet up every month IN PERSON around Australia.
